Instructional Design

AAI employs the instructional design model developed by Dick, Carey, and Carey. By engaging in a thorough needs assessment, followed by in-depth interaction with subject matter experts from your organization, we can develop a plan for identifying goals, objectives, content, instructional strategies and materials, and evaluation and assessment tools that result in a successful course or program.
The design team can develop courses that range from an individual course to a cluster of courses that provide on-going training for participants. On-line segments can also be integrated by our designers. Our staff includes experts from the fields of education and training, as well as subject matter experts with experience in the intelligence, law enforcement, and military communities.
Documentation
AAI can provide staff to document courses that are already part of your training program. Documenters observe a course and create an instructor manual that includes instructor actions and instructional content with notations for timing and handouts. Documentation captures the essentials of a course including training objectives and enables an organization to provide guidance for new instructors. It also provides a baseline for course review and revision.
Instructional Delivery

The instructional staff is available to co-facilitate courses as well as provide training. Courses with multiple instructors and guest speakers often require extensive coordination. Our experienced staff is prepared to support the efforts of your organization and to create a smoothly operating training experience for instructors and participants.
Consultation
The design team provides consultation services to organizations who wish to review courses and programs. Services include observations, feedback, and advice. They are also prepared to support the revision procession.
